Following the announcement that the traditional Annaclone circuit used for the Travers Engineering Annaclone GP would be available due to rescheduled road works the Banbridge CC Open Race Committee have been hard at work investigating alternate circuits, roads and facilities within the area.
We are delighted to announce that following lengthy discussions we have been able to secure the original Annaclone based circuit for this Saturday thanks to the willingness and co-operation of the works contractors, Gibson Bros Ltd.
Race HQ & sign-on will remain at Annaclone GAA. The circuit, which many will know starts and finishes at the junction of the Hawthorn Inn. The circuit can be viewed here.
Race 1, catering for the A1, 2 & 3 riders will be 6 laps, totalling approx. 47.5 miles / 76km. This race will be handicapped as per previous years.
Race 2, catering for A4 riders will be 5 laps, totalling just under 40 miles / 63km.
Race 1 is currently oversubscribed with a reserve list in place. Places are regularly becoming available due to withdrawals however so if you would like to ride we encourage you to pre enter ASAP – you will not be charged an entry fee until your place in the race is guaranteed.
Race 2 still has some availability, however pre-entry closes at 8pm on Wednesday so don’t hang about if you intend to apply for this race.
Refunds are still available up to 7pm on Friday 20th, minus a £2 administration charge/fee. Race entry on the day will be permitted, subject to availability, at a cost of £15.
Everyone should now have their 2015 race licence and numbers, please don’t forget them and have them at hand for review at race sign on. It’s the first race of the season, all licences are expected to be checked and verified.
Single event/day licences available will be available at the sign-on at a cost of £17 (€20) for non-CI members (have not taken out a 2015 licence), or £8 (€10) for those upgrading from a leisure or limited competition licences. Riders in Banbridge CC who hold a Limited Competition licence are eligible to ride the A4 event without an upgrade.
As previously noted sign-on will open at 10:00 am and close at 11:15. All races will roll out from HQ at 11:45 sharp and travel together to the Hawthorn Inn for a race start at 12:00 noon.
