Banbridge CC’s Cameron McIntyre today concluded a fantastic debut at the Scott bikes International Junior Tour of Ireland where he was guesting with the Nicolas Roche Performance Team. Team work was the name of the game and he led his team mate to two stage victories while achieving an excellent 3rd place behind the American Hot Tubes team riders.
After a short recovery break this week Cameron will new leave for a spell of international competition in Belgium where he will speand the remainder of the summer thanks to the support of Dany Blondeel’s Belgian Project.

Mark Downey had also had a busy week competing at the European Track Championships with the Ireland team.  Having won a silver medal last year at Junior level Mark had set some lofty goals for himself this year where he would compete at the under 23 ranks amongst regular international riders and Olympians.  Mark had an excellent week, making it into the final of the points race and gaining valuable experience which he can use over the next 4 years in this category.  Mark now also leaves for more international competition in France where he will join fellow Banbridge man Matthew Teggart with the AC Bisontine team in Besancon, France  for the remainder of the year.

Banbridge CC wish both lads the best of luck to both lads in the months ahead as they take on their new challenges abroad.
