This is the premier mountain bike event for youth riders in the UK and was promoted by British Cycling in Hadleigh Farm Essex the same venue as the 2012 Olympic Cross Country Race.

Competitors came from 14 regions of the UK including Ulster where John Buller from Banbridge CC was a member of the 4 man Cycling Ulster Team.  There were several events over the 3 days including bike skills, Sprints and XC Race but the event where John excelled was the short sprint eliminator event. The 56 youth riders competed in heats, semi finals and then the final with the top 14 riders. John put in an amazing performance of explosive speed over the 1.5km course winning his heat the semi final and then the grand final.

This was the first time that an Ulster rider has ever won an event at Inter Regional level in any discipline. John has certainly put Cycling Ulster on the map for MTB racing well done John from all at Banbridge Cycling Club.
