Banbridge CC once again hosted it’s end of season charity cycle  last Sunday, 25th Sept,  with Banbridge Action Cancer’s Paint the Town Pink the club’s chosen charity this year.  In previous years the charity run has been a club event used as a more relaxed social ride allowing all the club members to enjoy one another’s company at the end of a busy season – the racing cyclists, off road, on road, the volunteers the organisers, leisure cyclists; everyone together enjoying their chosen past time.  Over the last few years friends of the club and those from neighbouring  clubs have also enjoyed the relaxed nature of the charity cycle and once again this year we had a number of visitors welcomed along to join in on what was a beautiful day at the foot of the Mournes.

Event organiser Brian Curran once again had everything planned to ensure an enjoyable day.  Following the event, after ensuring everyone was fed and watered Brian took a moment to thanks those you helped out;

“Just like to say a big, big, thank you to all that turned out to support the Banbridge CC Charity Leisure Cycle today.  From the team of men and ladies from Banbridge CC for volunteering and giving up their day to make the event a safe and enjoyable one, and for the riders who took part, a big thank you.  Also to the club members who I have pestered so much to help with tasks  in preparation for today.  Thank you for the support from David McKay from Tescos Extra at Bridgewater for their food donation, and the Rosehip Bakery & Cafe for their contribution.  Also a massive thank you to some of our local cycle club members who took part and supported the event; Dromore CC , VC Iveagh, TVR, Newry Wheelers and anyone I may have missed out. To Banbridge Hockey Club and Rathfriland Community Center for the use of their club facilites, again thank you.
Last of all a massive thank you to the members of Banbridge Action Cancer who took the time out on their Sunday to help out all day and to make the event a success. We hope to see you all again next year, when we plan for it to be a bigger and better event!”

Neil McAllister was also on hand to capture the day on camera and has provided a healthy collection of shots from the event;
