Pre-entry to the 2017 Travers Engineering Annaclone GP is now open and can be accessed via the Cycling Ireland GoMembership site, here. Entry for both races is £13.
Opening the Irish road racing season, the Banbridge CC promoted event will take place on Saturday 18th February starting at 12 noon. We are delighted to announce that the 2017 event will see the introduction of the Eddie Sands Memorial Cup which will be awarded to the winner of the ‘A’ race catering for A1, A2 & A3 riders.
Eddie, who sadly passed away in 2016, was one of the last remaining co-founders of Banbridge CC in 1944 and remained a dedicated and loyal member of the club until his passing. The honour of being the first name on the cup is one that will be hard fought over.
The ‘A’ race for A1,2 &3’s will be 6 laps of the traditional circuit for a total race distance of approx. 47.5mi / 76.5km. The ‘B’ race for A4 men and A3/A4 women will cover 4 laps of the same course giving a total distance of approx. 31.5mi / 51km. Please note ‘A3’ women have the choice to enter either the ‘A’ or ‘B’ race. Both races will be restricted to a maximum of 80 riders.

For the ‘A’ race we will be reserving 30 places for A1 & A2 category riders for a limited time until midnight Sunday 12th February, after which all places will be open to all category riders (A1, A2 & A3). The ‘B’ race will be open to A4 category riders only. Entry for both races will close at midnight on Tuesday 14th February. A reserve list will be operated for both events in the scenario of all places being filled. Please note refunds are not available.
A valid racing licence is required for all entrants – no exceptions. Cycling Ireland One Day/ Event Licences will not be made available for this event. Further details of the event will be released in due course via banbridgecc.co.uk and a race manual will be made available to all entrants.
