The 2019 Cycling Ireland Membership awards are now open for voting and we’re thrilled to be shortlisted as Cycling Ireland Club of the Year alongside other fantastic clubs who do excellent work in support of cycling.

Banbridge CC were selected for the April monthly award due to their work promoting events along with supporting participation programmes such as “Women on Wheels” which has been developed by Cycling Ulster.

Since then the club have promoted a number of events through the year including the;

  • Ulster Criterium Championships in Banbridge Town centre,

  • Noel Teggart Memorial Road Races,

  • John Beggs Memorial National Road Series Races,

  • Round 4 of the MTB XC National Points Series

  • 3R Mobility Paracycling Series Round 8 / Thomas White Memorial TT

Assisting with the promotion of the Victus Tour of Ulster which was once again hosted in our home town was another highlight and one that we’re proud to be associated with

The club is celebrating their 75th Anniversary this year and during that time have developed many top-level international riders including Mark Downey who this year won a bronze medal at UCI Track Cycling World Championships and is currently competing in the London 6-Day as part of his build up to the World Cup and qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

We would encourage all Cycling Ireland members to vote in the awards which can be accessed via the below link.
