The nominations for the 2021 Banbridge Cycling Club are now available for review and voting by the membership. It has been a challenging year with many restriction still in place and limiting club activities however a number of our volunteers have gone above and beyond to ensure we were still very much active as a club. Congratulations to all the nominees on their efforts throughout 2021 .

Voting is limited to 1 vote per member – those who attempt to vote more than one will have all of their votes nullified. Voting will close on Wednesday 20th October, with the Club Person of the Year being announced and presented with the Towell Trophy at the club prize giving on Friday 22nd October.
Maurice Mayne
Standing down from the role of Club Chairman in 2021, a role he has fulfilled since 2013, Maurice has been a solid and reliable leader of the club while also bringing cohesion across the multiple areas and disciplines of the club, including the role of MTB Assistant Organiser.
Mark Kendall
Introducing a number of efficiencies to the demanding Club Secretary role, Mark has worked other club officials to streamline processes including club membership payments. Mark has also introduced technical solutions to ensure the continuation of club activities including coordination and set up of weekly online registration for club races and monthly video conference meetings. Mark also coordinates the visit to Majorca which is enjoyed by members.
Martin Duffy
A relatively new member of the club committee Martin has not wasted any time in getting stuck into activities. Martin is the club clothing officer, a role he carries out with great enthusiasm. He also introduced a club newsletter in recent months which has proven to be very popular among members. Martin also has been key to the revival of Time Trailing within the club, and in the last year has seen weekly updates and reports on activities.
Hazel Buller & Lydia Beattie
A shared nomination for our most active Timekeeping volunteers, both Hazel and Lydia are a constant presence at our club races and open events, providing a dependable and accurate service with an ever present smile on the finish line in all weathers
Toni Hannigan
Toni has continued to coordinate club racing activities and worked closely with the inter club racing league, activities which have become more challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic with a number of restrictions introduced to organisational processes and procedures. Toni also coordinates the press reports submitted and liaises with the local press as part of her club Press Officer role.
Brian Cairns
Brian co-ordinates the touring club activities, including the weekly runs which are renowned for their exploring adventures. Brian also co-ordinates the motorbike marshals for both club and open races and is a key member of the open race committee, part of which he is always willing to take on numerous activities to assist with the organisational event preparation tasks.
