Aaron extends league lead with Gilchrist Cup win.

5 August 2022

There was a great night’s racing for the final road race of the Banbridge Interclub Race League on the Tandragee circuit on Wednesday night past. Over 50 riders signed up to take part in the event, from all 3 clubs along with a few visitors. With sunshine and showers it didn’t dampen the spirits of the riders and spectators who came out to watch.

As part of the Interclub race , Banbridge CC also hosted the Gilchrist Cup as part of their own Club League.  There was another great turnout from Banbridge CC riders, but was  BCC Club League leader Aaron Parkes who was competing on home soil coming out on top.  Adding to his 2022 silverware collection as the winner of the Gilchrist Cup, Aaron also extends his lead in the league over Brian Hannon who has leapfrogged Richard McBride into 2nd place.

Ruth McKee, who was competing in the B race, closed her gap to Julie Lilley in the Ladies BAR competition, with only 17 points now between them.

Well done to everyone who took part and thanks for the support for all the support at the events so far. The next event as part of the league is the John Maxwell Cup which will be promoted as part of the Interclub League TT next week in Rathfriland.  You can enter here (entry closes 9pm Monday 8th Aug).
