Congratulations to Banbridge CC Secretary Mark Kendall and Paul Smith on their promotion to the A2 senior ranks. Mark has had a great season and has consistently been in the points which has led to his upgrade from the A3 rankings. Paul is a recent joiner to Banbridge CC but has wasted no time in showing his new yellow jersey in the midst of the action and has secured a number of top placings latley.
Mark has clearly been putting the hard hours in on the saddle, but as many will know he also puts many hours in towards club administrations and organisations. Earlier this year Mark was recognised for his volunteering services by Armagh Banbridge Craigavon Borough Council and was the also the winner of the Towell Trophy for Banbridge CC Member of the Year in 2021.
Both Marks and Paul’s upgrades came following their 3rd and 4th places in the Madigan GP which was promoted by Team Madigan on Saturday past (13 Aug) and will see them joining club mates Stevie Fitzsimmons who also recently made a return to the A2 ranks alongside Johnny McRoberts.
At the same event Banbridge CC’s Lewis Cowan had the misfortune of a bad crash in the closing stages of the A4 race sustain a broken collarbone, and no, the bike is not ok!
