McCullough holds slender lead in club league, but all to play for in final 3 rounds.

With only 3 rounds remaining of the Banbridge CC Club Racing League Nigel McCullough has taken the lead of the table standings on 191 points.  He does so by virtue of scoring consistently throughout the season and has collected points from a total of 10 rounds already.

The final league scoring is taken from a competitor’s best 10 scores, so while Nigel has the ability to improve on his existing score tally, it likely to be marginal.

Just one point behind Nigel is Paul Wilkinson, however he has accumulated that score from only 8 rounds and so has the opportunity to add to that score significantly over the coming weeks.  In third place overall is defending league champion Aaron Parks with 174 points.  Aaron has scored from 7 rounds of the league, and if he is able to secure scores from the final 3 rounds will be right in the mix for overall honours.

Only 4 points adrift of Aaron is Dan Purdy on 170 points, also from 7 rounds and capable of scoring big is present for the remainder of the league.

Leading woman is Ruth McKee on 145 who looks to have secured the title of leading women for 2023, a bragging right she lost last year to Julie Lilley.  Long live the Queen!

Riley Smith is the leading youth rider with 129 points. Riley has had a fantastic year, showing many of his senior competitors that what he lacks in years he more than makes up for in speed and ability.

The next round of the league is this Wednesday with the Weir Cup 10m TT on the Rathfriland Rd. This is an event that was postponed from earlier in the season due to adverse weather conditions.  Registration closes at 10pm on Tuesday (22/08) evening.
