Cameron McIntyre has been enjoying his comeback to competitive cycling and was rewarded this week with a victory in the Skelly Cup handicapped competition. The ‘lumpy’ 17.5 mile circuit TT favours those enjoy to push themselves as the road rises, but with added complexity of the handicap system riders are itched against their own calculated target times.
Only 3 riders managed to better their target times. Cameron’s actual time of 42:56 was 25 sec quicker than his target, with runner up Gavin Clarke beating his target by 16 sec. Lewis Cowan completed the top 3 by shaving a scant 4 sec off his target.
The Skelly Cup competition was hosted as part of the popular Banbridge Inter Club Race League, which seen a total of 48 riders registered for Wednesday evening’s TT event.
