Following up on a strong performance from Round 1 of the Maxwell Cup where he took the early lead on the Annaclone circuit from Stuart Best and Philip Castles, Brian Hannon has taken a fine 2nd place in Round 2 at Tandragee to declare himself a clear winner of the 2024 Maxwell Cup.

Dan Purdy was 1st Banbridge rider home at Tandragee, however having not scored any points in R1 it was Hannon who took full advantage.  Philip Castles was a solid 7th place in R2, which combined with his 3rd place in R1 gave him the runner up spot.  William McBride, who has delivered a very consistent season so far, rounded out the final podium places with his combined 10th place in R1 and 4th in R2.

After 7 rounds of the club league Mick Martin continues to hold a strong lead with a total tally of 164 points.  He currently has a 21 point advantage over Philip Castles, with leading woman Ruth McKee a further 11 points adrift in 3rd place overall.
