Banbridge Cycling Club has proudly handed over a cheque for £540 to Lisburn Outlook, marking a successful fundraising effort and a meaningful partnership with their nominated charity of the year.
The donation was presented by Brian Hannon, a dedicated member of Banbridge Cycling Club, to David Mann, Chair of Lisburn Outlook. The funds were raised during the club’s annual quiz evening, an event that brought together members and supporters in a spirited show of generosity and community spirit.
This year, Banbridge Cycling Club has been working in tandem—both figuratively and literally—with Lisburn Outlook, a local charity committed to promoting social, cultural, and recreational activities for blind and partially sighted individuals in the Lisburn area.
Brian Hannon’s involvement goes beyond the cycling club. As a volunteer pilot for Lisburn Outlook’s weekly tandem rides, he plays a vital role in helping visually impaired participants experience the joy and freedom of cycling. His dual commitment to both organisations exemplifies the power of community collaboration and personal dedication.
“It’s been a privilege to support Lisburn Outlook this year,” said Brian. “The tandem rides are a highlight for many, and it’s fantastic to see the cycling community rally behind such a worthwhile cause.”
David Mann expressed his gratitude, noting that the donation will help further the charity’s mission to enrich the lives of those living with visual impairments.
Banbridge Cycling Club’s support for Lisburn Outlook is a shining example of how sport and service can come together to create lasting impact.
