Banbridge CC were well represented at the opening round of the Ulster Cyclo-X League at Orangefield playing fields in Belfast. The under 10 girls kicked the action off for BCC and Zara Aiken gave the yellow jersey a successful start with a fabulous 3rd place. Hot on Zara’s heels was Ava Parks in 5th place who was making her competitive debut in CX.
Eve Harrison was also dipping her toes into the unknown by stepping up into the under 14 category. Despite it being Eve’s first attempt at the U14’s she secured a remarkable 2nd place, clearly enjoying the challenge.
Also in action was Richard Nicholl who was participating in the MTB support race. Mollie Jackson was competing in eth combined Women’s CX race and finished just outside the top 10 in 12 place. Seasoned veteran and recently crowned Master’s 40 Gravel National Champion Aaron Parks was competing in the ‘A’ race, finishing in 7th place overall and 4th of the M40’s class.
Travelling to Glanasmole in the Dublin Mountains on Sunday, Adam Matthews was competing for the National Hill Climb Champs in the combined Senior men’s race. Adam put in another fine performance, finishing in 6th place overall and 2nd junior on the day.
