Fast becoming a seasoned competitor in epic off road endurance events, Banbridge CC’s Johnny McRoberts continues to push himself with new challenges and goals for 2025.
The first competitive step in Johnny’s 2025 plan kicks off this week in the Costa Blanca territory of Spain where he will participate in the Costa Blanca Bike Race. A “pioneering stage race” and the first of its kind on the UCI calendar, the race provides amateurs with the opportunity to mix it with professionals. With four stages to complete in four days, commencing on Wednesday (29/01) and concludes on Sunday (02/02) in Calpe. Johnny is using the event as part of his extensive preparations for one of his main goals of the season in March; the Cape Epic. The Cape Epic will push the envelope even further with eight stages in South Africa covering 700km and 16,000m of climbing.
