As we approach the final events of the 2025 club racing season the overall Banbridge CC league table is taking shape.  To date the league has seen some remarkable performances and competition with participation numbers once again bucking the general trend and producing full field in bit the road race and TT events.

Those competitors who have been the most consistent with participation have a clear advantage and are typically scoring higher, but with the league permitting competitors to drop their lowest scoring 3 rounds it also allows those who may have missed events due to holidays or work commitments to remain competitive.

One of the standout performers from early season was Mick Larkin who was continually beating the handicapper by drastically reducing his TT times week on week.  So far this year Mick has secured 4 victories in the Weir Cup, Wills Cup, Heathwood Cup and the Quinn Cup;  all handicapped TT events.  A remarkable feat, demonstrating his continued improvement this season. Mick has also been once of the most consistent with his participation, missing only 1 event all year.  It should therefore come as no surprise that Mick has the most accumulated points in the league table; a total of 186 so far.

Hot on Mick’s heels in 2nd place is Mark Kendall with a tally of 173 points, however with the removal of the 3 lowest scoring rounds being factored the difference in the 2 competitors is a scant 6 points – in favour of Kendall.  Participation in the remaining rounds could be crucial to ensure the maximum points available are utilised by either Mick or Mark.

3rd, 4th and 5th places in the League are separated by only a single point.  Previous BCC League winner Aaron Parks and the evergreen Ruth McKee both sit on 139 points each, with Trevor Martin on 138 points.

Ruth McKee is once again the leading woman in the League Table, however Carla McArdle is still within reaching distance on 107 points, especially so when those 3 rounds are reduced leaving a gap of only 10 points.  Carla has also been remarkable in her participation record this year, missing only 3 rounds of the league for the not so minor distraction of child birth!

There are now only 4 counting rounds of the BCC League remaining, the first of which will take place on Wednesday evening with a circuit TT.  Following that will be the sprint TT on the Gall Bog Rd on 27th Aug, the Hill Climb at Sentry Box on 3rd Sept and the finale will be hosted as part of the Thomas White Memorial open TT on 14th Sept at the fast Warrenpoint carriageway course.

The final round of the MAC 2-UP TT will also be promoted on 20th Aug, but as a team event will not be a counting round of the individual club league.

The table below shows the current total tally of points accumulated by each competitor in this years league.  Please note that the lowest scoring 3 rounds have not been deducted from the below scores.
