With only one counting event remaining in Banbridge CC’s 2025 Club League it is still very much to play for at the top of the table. It has been another successful club racing season for Banbridge with a total of 54 members scoring points across 14 event promotions.
Mick Larkin has had a remarkable season, opening the season with back-to-back wins. Mick has won no less than four club events on handicap this season, this is despite a continually and dramatically lowering handicap. The consistency of competitive veteran Mark Kendall has also paid dividends however, being among the highest points scorers in both road race and timed events. Mark currently tops the table from Mick with a lead of 12 points, but with the final points of the league being calculated by the handicapper on Sundays’ open TT it could turn out to be a very slender lead – especially so as Mick has typically scored his highest points in handicapped TT’s.
Completing the top 3 at the top of the table is another remarkably consistent rider and former winner of the Banbridge CC club league, Aaron Parks. Aaron is 30 points adrift of 2nd place however, and with the winner of each club event being awarded 30 points it’s a little too late to once again claim the crown of club league champion in 2025.
Ruth McKee once again finds herself near the top of the table and by default is once again the leading woman with an insurmountable advantage. Carla McArdle has proven a worthy opponent to Ruth in 2025,and one would expect to see a very tight competition between the women in ’26.
The final round of the league is the Lutton Cup which will be hosted as part of the Thomas White Memorial TT promotion this Sunday in Warrenpoint. Entries are open until Thursday (11/09) evening, here.
